Exploring Downs Park and Dog Beach in Pasadena MD: Moving to Maryland with Pets

Are you planning on moving to Maryland with pets? Downs Park in Anne Arundel County should definitely make your list of must-visit spots. With an off-leash dog beach, scenic views of the Chesapeake Bay, picnic spots and pavilions, and two fishing piers, Downs Park is a great place for a pup friendly outing!

Finding the Downs Park Dog Beach

Downs Park is one of the few parks in Maryland that features an off-leash dog beach. If you’re moving to Maryland with a dog, this beach is a great place for them to run free and enjoy the water.

To find the dog beach, start by parking near the Fernwood pavilion. The pavilions in Downs Park are available to rent and are ideal for hosting pet-friendly picnics and gatherings. From there, follow the signs to the Dog Beach. You’ll see marked trails featuring paw prints leading the way — soon, you and your dog will be enjoying a sandy, waterfront retreat on the Chesapeake Bay.

Downs Park Activities for Everyone

Downs Park isn’t just a dog lover’s paradise. It offers plenty of activities for everyone in the family:
